Dr. Zangerle is the chief executive officer of the American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL) and the chief nurse executive of the American Hospital Association (AHA).

“Dr. Zangerle is an accomplished leader in the field of nursing whose expertise and passion will serve as an inspiration to our new graduates as they start this exciting next chapter of their lives,” states David A. King, EdD president of Ursuline College. “Her experiences resonate with all of our students, highlighting the shared values of compassion and resilience, as well as the importance making a positive impact on the world.”

A former Chief Nurse Executive at Allegheny Health Network and Chief Executive Officer of the Visiting Nurse Association of Ohio, she previously served in various roles at the Cleveland Clinic including Chief Nursing Officer, Director of Quality and Accreditation, and Director of Preventive Cardiology. She started her nursing career at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston in Cardiothoracic Surgery and Trauma after receiving a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology from Texas A&M University and an Associate Degree of Nursing from Houston Baptist University. She also earned a Master of Business Administration from Lake Erie College, a Master of Science in Nursing from Kent State University, and a Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Texas Christian University.

Certified as an Advanced Nurse Executive with the American Nurses Credentialing Center, she is a Fellow of the American Organization for Nursing Leadership, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing.

Dr. Zangerle shares, "I'm deeply honored to address this exceptional group of graduates. Through their Ursuline education, these students have developed into compassionate leaders ready to excel in their chosen paths. It brings me tremendous pride to see these inspired young individuals prepared to make their unique mark on our world."

Ursuline expects to graduate over 330 undergraduate and graduate students into the fields of healthcare, business, arts, science, education, and more at its commencement ceremony on May 11, 2025, at the Bert L. and Iris S. Wolstein Center.
