奖助金 are need-based funds that do not have to be repaid. They come from a variety of sources and can be related to your intended major, 财务需要, or even your housing preferences. Though the specific grants you may be eligible for will vary, they all can generally be sorted into one of three categories: federal, 状态, 或机构.
联邦佩尔助学金
A 联邦佩尔助学金 is awarded to undergraduate students who have high 财务需要 and have not previously earned a bachelors or professional degree. 联邦佩尔助学金 amounts vary based on need and enrollment level (e.g. full time, three-quarter time, half-time, etc). The Pell Grant now has a lifetime limit amount of six full-time years or 12 full-time semesters (maximum percentage of 600%). Any student reaching that limit will no longer be eligible to receive this grant, regardless of need. Completion of the FAFSA is required to apply for this grant.
Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity 奖助金 (SEOG)
Federal SEOG funds are awarded to undergraduate students with exceptional 财务需要. Priority is given to students who receive a 联邦佩尔助学金.
State 奖助金 (Ohio Residents)
The State of Ohio provides need-based grant funds through the Ohio College Opportunity Grant (OCOG) to full and part-time students attending institutions within 状态. Application for this grant is made through submitting the FAFSA. The deadline to submit your FAFSA in order to apply for this grant is October 1st of the award year.
Ursuline Funds and Endowed Funds
Ursuline College provides numerous 助学金及奖学金 based on need and various other criteria. Students must complete the FAFSA application and meet the criteria of the donor to be awarded these funds. There is no separate application. We use your 成本 and 财务需要 to determine your eligibility for endowed funds.
联邦半工半读的 provides part-time jobs for undergraduate and graduate students with 财务需要, allowing them to earn money to help pay education expenses. The program encourages community service work and work related to the student’s course of study.
Loan funds must be repaid, typically after graduation. While some students are intimidated by the idea of student loans, they are actually a great tool to help finance your education. Most Ursuline students report that their loan was worth it, and find that their payments are manageable after graduation. For more detail on federal student loans, please visit our 贷款 页面.
